Client Specialist 

Location: Houston, TX

Position Type: Fulltime Temporary

FLSA Classification: Non-Exempt

 

Position Summary:

Witt O'Brien's is seeking Client Specialists to join our Vessel Services team in Houston, TX.  This position is responsible for effectively preparing and sending vessel response plans and other vessel documents.  Client Specialists must be professional, accurate and capable of meeting deadlines.  This is currently an on-call position. Currently, this is a Temporary, On-call job position.  As demand increases we need people who are available to start working with short notice.  The typical work schedule is an 8 hour daytime shift, Monday-Friday.  

This position description incorporates the core responsibilities of the job. It recognizes that other related duties not specifically mentioned might also be performed, and that not all responsibilities may be carried out depending on operational needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare, submit and revise vessel response plans
  • First-line communications with clients, other service providers and government agencies
  • Manage day-to-day office tasks and operations, including but not limited to:
    • Determining daily priorities
    • Ensuring vessels are in compliance prior to estimated time of arrival
    • Handling inquiries promptly from clients via e-mail, phone contact, letter and office visitors
    • Representing the office to, and interacting with, clients, other service providers and government agencies
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Excellent communication skills (oral and written); good editing and proofreading skills
  • Strong organizational skills; attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to take initiative; flexibility; strong work ethic; and dependability
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Strong clerical skills and experience working in an office setting 
  • Ability to establish priorities, work with minimum supervision, work well under pressure, multi-task, anticipate schedule demands and meet deadlines
  • 2 years experience providing client account management
  • 2 years experience providing customer service/administrative support
  • 2 years experience in Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook and Power-Point)

Compensation: $12-$15 per hour
